It is becoming standard that we publish songs that we are quick to write and almost as quick to record, and it is true that Steve conjured up this ode to the elements in a quarter hour on Chris’ front porch. Characterized by a simple but catchy chord progression and a melody that we think will be stuck in your head for at least the duration of the song, it also takes its title from a line in the song that refers to something… but what? If you guess the right answer, you get a prize! (Hint: the prize is a free song. Next Friday).

Discussion
STEVE: As promised last week, this week’s discussion is an actual dialogue, and a video to boot! For the first time in several months, Chris and I met… in person. It was really great to see him again and make a music together. As I type, I am now back at home in Lakefield and Chris is continuing to make more musics at a karaoke bar in Toronto. I will let him take it from here!
CHRIS: What? No. I was at karaoke until very late. I can’t type anything right now. Let the video do the talking:
Lyrics
I’ve floated cross the seas at night and
I’ve seen the fish swim in lime light, yeah
I saw the fish and I crossed the sea but
Nothing else compares to you for me
Sun shines so bright
But you outshine the sun
Why can’t you see?
Nothing else compares to you for me
Nothing else compares to you for meÂ
I’ve flown across a starstruck night
Chasing down shooting stars and northern lights
I swear to you from my bended knee
Nothing else compares to you for me
Sun shines so bright
But you outshine the sun
Why can’t you see?
Nothing else compares to you for me
Nothing else compares to you for meÂ
I’ve walked the mountains and I’ve waded streams and
I’ve sifted through the sands of Rub’ al Khali
My tank’s a quarter empty but
Nothing else compares to you for me
Sun shines so bright
But you outshine the sun
Why can’t you see?
Nothing else compares to you for me
Nothing else compares to you for me
You know it’s true
Nothing else compares to me for you

Hey Tanner! Yeah, working on the haircut… figure it is long enough now to make money for some good cause. Also, hopefully will get down there at some point, weather is only getting colder from here on in…
